Raksha Bandhan Sankalp Patra
The rakhi thread is a promise — of protection, of respect. This Raksha Bandhan, make that promise not only to your own sister but to every sister and daughter.
My five pledges
Tying the rakhi takes a day. Keeping the promise takes the year.
Every sister's safety
If I see any woman around me treated with disrespect, I will not stay silent — I will speak up and step in.
Spread 1090 and 112
I will pass on the women's helpline 1090 and emergency number 112 to at least ten people.
One more rakhi
This Raksha Bandhan I will also receive a rakhi from a sister who has no brother — or tie one for a police, army or sanitation worker.
A daughter's education
I will support one girl's education in my family or neighbourhood — books, fees, or my time to teach.
Language of respect
I will neither support nor forward demeaning language, jokes or social posts about women.
