Friends of Yogi is an independent volunteer initiative operated in compliance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

What we collect

Name, mobile, email, district, Vidhan Sabha constituency, pincode, age, gender, role preferences, languages, weekly availability, vehicle, current status (education / employment / business details), social handle, and any additional comments you choose to share — only the information you voluntarily enter in the volunteer form.

How we use it

Solely for volunteer coordination related to the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly campaign, invitations to local activities, and relevant communication. We do not sell your information to any third party.

Merch orders

If you place a merch order from the shop, we additionally collect your delivery address and pincode. Only the details needed for delivery (name, mobile, address, pincode) are shared with our printing and shipping partner. Order data is used solely to fulfil your order and for related communication (such as confirming your order on WhatsApp).

Campaigns, pledges & polls

If you enter your name and mobile in a pledge drive, that information joins the same volunteer database with your consent and is used for the same purpose. Poll votes are recorded anonymously — no name or mobile is collected. When you arrive via a link shared by a volunteer, we record only their referral code so their contribution can be counted. For active volunteers we keep an internal record of campaign participation (which activity, invitation/confirmation status) to coordinate better.

Your rights

You may at any time email contact@friendsofyogi.in to view, correct, or delete your data. Under the DPDP Act we shall act on your request within 30 days.

Data storage

Volunteer data is stored on secure cloud database servers located in India (Mumbai region). We employ modern encryption and strict access controls — only authorised team members can access the data.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel, and Vercel Analytics to measure how many people visit and complete the volunteer form — including when you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram advertisement — so we can improve our outreach. These tools may set cookies and process limited, non-sensitive usage data. We do not use them to sell your personal information. You can opt out via your browser settings or your Facebook/Instagram ad preferences.
